Republicans Kick Off with “Super Saturday” (UPDATE – Spies?)
Arkansas Republicans are gearing up for the fall election season with a “Super Saturday” volunteer effort. Phone banking operation are going on all day at the following nine locations: Searcy, Springdale, Little Rock, Conway, Benton, Jonesboro, Fort Smith, El Dorado and Mountain Home.
In addition, candidates will be touring the location to meet with volunteers. Rep. John Boozman, Jim Keet, Mark Darr, Mark Martin, Rick Crawford, Tim Griffin, Steve Womack and Beth Anne Rankin, as well as many local candidate will be making the rounds through out the day.
UPDATE - I checked in on the activity at the Saline County Republican headquarters and their were around dozen or so volunteers working the phones. Republican gubernatorial candidate Jim Keet and congressional candidate Tim Griffin both stopped in while I was there.
The scuttlebutt today was about a Democrat spy over at the Little Rock headquarters. According to reports, the man came in and started making phone calls with volunteers, then pulled out a video camera and started filming when Keet started talking. When asked, he admitted that the Democrats sent him over to see what was going on.
Hmmm, it seems someone is worried.
UPDATE II – Reports are
now coming in from almost all the different places about Democrat spies showing up. To the right is a picture of the spy at the Fort Smith headquarters filming congressional candidate Steve Womack talking to a volunteer.
One correction – I have been told they are not making phone calls, just hanging around and documenting the Republicans operations. Odd stuff.
UPDATE III – The executive director of the Democratic Party of Arkansas Mariah Hatta says regarded the spies – “It’s news to me” and that she actually first heard about it from my blog. She asked for photos which I sent to her. She said “if the Party did send someone it was to cover the office openings and accompanying speeches not to phone bank.”
Okie Dokie.

Mariah is either a liar, or a pretty horrible executive director to not know what her people were doing.
Lack of institutional control due to a bunch of mavericks going rogue.

And Republicans don’t do this? It’s politics, not a shocker…

Who cares if they made phone calls? A script is a script is a script. Are we worried they didn’t emphasize all the right words or something?

You’re right, GBP, it’s not a shock. But it sure is fun watching some liberal anxiety reveal itself. Not much longer now!

Democrats are the absolute scum of the earth. They know they’re about to lose their tails in November so they DO have every right to be worried. These people absolutely disgust me.

Can Ms. Hatta identify the above mouth breather? From the pics it looks like he went to Fort Smith and Conway. My money says he is on DPA payroll. Any pics of the loser in Little Rock?
Tolbert, I say you make them famous.

Y’all do realize this guy/these guys could work for the DCCC and that, technically, Ms. Hatta might not know everything they’re doing. That or she wasn’t directly told what they would be doing.

If they DO work for the DCCC, then that’s even funnier. It shows that even at the national level Democrats realize they’re toast in Arkansas.
