Intimidation, goodies? Who knows. But I agree with FSRepublican. This week I ran into a second legislator that claims they are not supporting Gilbert, yet has found their name being used by him as a supporter.

I guess being part of the ‘establishment’ must mean that you don’t support the chose candidate of FSRepublican?

Anyone who really knows Gilbert Baker knows that he doesn’t operate by threats, intimidation, or passing out goodies from the chair of the Budget Committee. Anyone who really knows how the Ledge works knows that the Budget Chairs don’t have any goodies to pass out, especially with King Beebe I in charge.

I’ve been one of the recipients of his “genuine” handshakes and grins.

I wonder how genuine he was in using that budget co-chair in moving certain state legislators away from non endorsing anyone to getting on that list of establishment endorsers?

If they aren’t taking shots at you, then you aren’t a viable threat! To hear Lincoln challenge Baker in the DemGaz today and on the air is a very positive thing 12 months from a vote. Baker isn’t an establishment candidate, he is a genuine human being (anyone who really knows him would agree) with great political instincts and a good common sense perspective who brings the one dimension most needed to defeat Lincoln next year…. Strong fundraising skills!!! She’s weak, the climate is healthy for an upset, voters are motivated – all the race needs is the candidate who can raise the $$ to get on the screen with voters…. GO BAKER GO… Nobody does it better!!

To the guy who thinks that a filibuster should be banned yhou need a history lesson. It is there to slow the process down as a positive thing to keep a majority from ramming somthing down the minoritys throats. Republicans and moderate dems need to stop this whatever the cost.

Disclosure: I’m for the proposed health care plan.

But even if I wasn’t, I think the filibuster option should be banned from use. Its only purpose is to enable a minority to prevent the democratic process from taking place.
