Tim Griffin To Run for Congress
About a week ago, I broke the news that Tim Griffin was serious considering running for U.S. Congress against Vic Snyder. Well, it looks like I might be correct on this.
Griffin posted via twitter this morning, “Today, I am filing to run for the 2nd Congressional District of Arkansas.” He also changed his twitter name to @GriffinCongress and launched a campaign website. His Facebook group also has changed their name.
UPDATE - Griffin released the following statement via email..
“Today, I am filing my statement of candidacy with the Federal Election Commission and the Secretary of State and will be a candidate for the 2nd Congressional District of Arkansas. The people of Central Arkansas deserve a congressman who shares their values and represents their views. I am grateful and excited about the encouragement and support that I have received and look forward to discussing the many critical issues facing Arkansans, including health care, cap and trade and out of control spending. I will formally kickoff my campaign in the coming weeks. Please visit my website at www.TimGriffinforCongress.com.”

Is he our only hope against Synder this next year? Please tell me there is someone else out there?

Well, Tolbert’s got it! The Arkansas Project isn’t up yet.
Wonder what this does to the other candidates in the race? The 2nd Congr. District is actually fertile ground. Thought there was someone else (banker) running.
If Tim is the only one, he’ll give Vicky a hell of a fight.

Barbara – I assume the banker you heard about is French Hill but I have not heard much from him in a while. I have heard that the owner of Bruno’s Little Italy Scott Wallace might jump in very soon. But this is unconfirmed so don’t tell anybody okay.

Tim will be great. I am very excited about his candidacy. The second district needs real representation. Congrats Tim

The 2nd is not fertile ground….. well some of it is…. but ultimately one has to break the high side of 40% in Pulaski County in order to win the 2nd. Even if one could win all the other counties, Pulaski is the key…. and remember they elected Snyder in the first place…

I heard some one else is going to run too! I was really excited about him. He really speaks the truth. It’s someone who isn’t a Career Politician. NEVER been a politician. Hurry and Announce!

ahh now I see Jason already said who I am talking about. That’s what I heard too!

Until I see folks actually raise $250-500K, (even then, Chuck Banks lost in 2004 with $540K) this is all just people stroking their own egos. A few tweets and press releases do not make someone a real candidate. I bet your bottom dollar Tim has no donations lined up, or even a scant few.

David Meeks of Conway has been running for quite sometime. His website is http://www.whoisdavidmeeks.com

This David guy has never been in politics before either Kay. I think that is what we really need. A normal man, not a politician.

They will need at least 1 – 2 million to compete with Vic… and 3 would be better. This is a Pulaski County race. They are the 900lb gorilla on the block.
Pulaski county is fairly liberal. It will be very difficult to be moderate enough to win the numbers needed in Pulaski county and still win the other counties. Winning Pulaski county alone can win the 2nd district. All Vic has to do is win Pulaski by 55%+ and he should win the 2nd. This isn’t a 2nd district race it’s a Pulaski County race.

Scott Wallace is one who really commands ur attention Met Meeks wasn’t impressed.
Money is key>>>> I think that is thinking in the old way
We are looking for kingfish with out the crap Speaking the truth… no matter what it is

I just want the infighting to quit, unity to avail, and let’s kick Vic’s tail out!
