David Fort Will Not Seek Re-election as Arkansas Young Republican Chairman
In a bit of inside Arkansas Republican politics news, current Chairman of the Arkansas Young Republicans (AYR) tells the Tolbert Report today that he will not seek reelection at the upcoming AYR Convention. The Convention will take place in Little Rock on September 26 although the exact time and place has not yet been announced.
AYR Chariman David Fort tells me that he is not seeking re-election as he needs to spend more time focusing on his golf business. Fort closed the driving range he owned earlier this year and is doing some public relations work for various professional golfers. “I am pleased with what the YRs were able to accomplish this past year and hope that the next chairman can build upon this,” said Fort.
This past Spring, former press secretary of the Republican Party of Arkansas Elizabeth Aymond announced that she will be running for AYR Chairman. Aymond has run a full campaign complete with a website, a Facebook group, a twitter account, and email updates. She confirmed this morning to the Tolbert Report that she still plans to run.
“Over the past few months I have had the privilege of traveling throughout Arkansas to visit with young and young-at-heart conservatives,” Aymond tells the Tolbert Report. ”The energy from people has been astounding, and the overwhelming sentiment is that we need a Young Republican organization here at home. Two of my main goals as Chairman of the Arkansas Young Republicans will be to truly utilize every avenue of this grassroots organization by keeping people informed and helping qualified candidates get elected.”
As of this posting, no other candidates have announced.

I little odd and misleading to come over to your site to vote on state senate race and see a big color picture of only one of the candidates.

ddubb – Well, I guess I am just “an odd and misleading” kind of guy. Hey, Elizabeth – got any pictures of you and Greenberg arm and arm that I can post so that ddubb will think I am fair and balanced.
Good night people. This is a little clicky clicky internet poll on a blog. There is no grand conspiracy here.
I guess anyone will probably also vote for David Fort for President of the United States since he is in a picture with Air Force One in the background.

I wish I did, Jason, but I don’t. I do, however, have a picture that I took of Dan when he spoke at the Saline County Townhall last weekend. I took it… so does that mean that I’m friends w/ Dan as well as Jeremy?
Oh, and just FYI: the pic of Jeremy, Sarah, and me was taken at my meet and greet in Little Rock. Dan also came by the meet and greet, but I didn’t get a chance to take a pic w/ him.
I can always send you another picture, Jason, if this turns into an issue.

Oh goodness. I just realized that my comment above might read as though I sent Jason the picture he used in the post. I didn’t. He obtained it from my website, http://aymondforchair.webs.com/. Just to clarify.

Elizabeth – Don’t worry twice about it. I was actually just trying to point out ddubb ludicrous arguement. I used that picture as I thought people might recognize the people in it and I thought it was a good picture.

A picture, seriously? I think we all know what Dan looks like. I highly doubt this or any poll is adversely affected by a lack thereof….I mean really.

Fort is taking his final step toward joining The Teams by moving aside so Trevor Drown can run for the YR job.
This was Plan 18F in the Trevor Drown playbook.
If the Drownies take control of the YRs, it is only a matter of time before Trevor controls the universe.
2012 be damned! This is the signal that the Rapture is nigh!

The Teams….that is the funniest comment I’ve seen on Jason’s blog in a long time. Thank you for that!

Elizabeth has my vote!

How about Mark Martin? With all of the goofy pictures he tweets of himself (like the devil picture etc.) it would be a good restarting point to maturity and political correctness. It is things like the photos that give our party a bad image. On a positive note, David you have done a great job with the AYR. You will be missed.

While I certainly believe that people have the right to express their opinions in such open forums, I do hope that we can continue to focus on the positives that I have been running on these past few months. People might not entirely agree with one another; however, in the end, we will all need to come together to focus on building up this organization and its members.

Elizabeth,I know where you can get a good communication director. Stefani Buhajla would be an asset for you. She was smart to leave Tom’s campaign but is now looking for work. Not trying to bash Tom, but Stefani had to see the writing on the wall. Go Coleman!!
