Video: Alice Stewart on the Republican Health Care Forums
Alice Stewart appeared on KTHV this morning representing the Republican Party of Arkansas to discuss the upcoming health care forums that the RPA will be hosting.
“The intent from the Republican Party is to provide a forum for people across the state to come speak,” said Stewart. “The idea is to have one in each Congressional District where a free flow of ideas from the voters that have some very outspoken idea on this and the leaders of our party and then pass on this information to the representatives in Washington, DC. Hopefully, our Congressional members will come – Democrats and Republicans – because it is important for the voices of the people in Arkansas to be heard and that information carried to Washington.”
Will any of the Democrats show up for these events? If I was a betting man, I would not bet on it. But it could be a really opportunity for them to score some major political points. Imagine the press of an Arkansas Democrat being able to say, not only did I host town hall meeting, I went to one hosted but Republicans.
Stewart admitted that there are several different bills in Washington causing some confusion but said, “What is out there is a bill proposal that is over 1,000 pages … The problem is the representatives in DC have not read it but the people across America have read it and that’s where they are running into problems.” She went on to say, “There are provisions in there that people will not like. Certainly, Federal funding for abortion, end of life care that would basically pull the plug on grandparents across the country and take money away from Medicare where it is critically needed.”
Much to Max Brantley’s disappointment, Stewart did not take the opportunity to announce her candidacy for Governor of Arkansas.
UPDATE – “People across Arkansas are freedom-loving individuals who should be insulted that Sen. Lincoln, House Speaker Pelosi, Majority Leader Hoyer, and other Democrats have called people ‘un-American’ for speaking up,” Stewart tells the Tolbert Report. ”The Republican Party of Arkansas encourages everyone to come out and exercise their freedom of speech on this important issue.”

People have NOT read it. They listen to morons like Alice tell them what is in it. Then they bring guns to meetings, hang politicians in effigy, threaten those that disagree with them, and call dissenters Nazi, Socialist, and Unamerican.
You people are bunch of ignorant Hate Mongers. I pity you guys.

I have read it. I hate the bill and many others in Washington. Why can’t we get healthcare for everyone without treading on freedom. Sounds like Bruno is the one with disinformation.
