Tom Fite to announce intention to run for State House District 83
Rett Hatcher breaks some news on his blog today – Tom Fite plans to run for State House District 83. Fite will announce in Ozark on August 15 with former Razorback Clint Stoerner introducting him. From Hatcher…
Tom Fite will formally announce his intention to run for Arkansas House of Representatives, District 83 at 3p.m. Saturday, August 15, 2009 at the East Ozark City Park in Ozark, AR. Former Arkansas Razorback and Dallas Cowboy Quarterback Clint Stoerner will announce Fite.
Fite, an area businessman and owner of Service Communications and Wireless with offices in Van Buren and Springdale, AR, is a fifth generation western Arkansan, has served as the President of the Van Buren JC’s, Arkansas Constable, and currently is a member of the Crawford County Quorum Court. Fite is married to Edna Charlene Harris Fite of Alma, AR and the two are active members of Eastside Baptist Church in Ft. Smith, AR.
“I believe that I represent well the values of district 83,” Fite said. “I believe in a fiscally responsible government. I am Pro Life, a strong believer in the second amendment, and that better education starts by leaving education to local control (local school boards and local school administrators)”.
“I look forward to representing my friends and neighbors in District 83, and Saturday’s announcement event will hopefully allow them to get to know me better, and what my intentions will be on how to best serve our communities.”
Fite will be available for a Q&A following the announcement. Stoerner, a friend and Republican supporter, will also be available after the announcement for a Q&A session regarding Arkansas football.
District 83 includes the communities Dora, Figure Five, Ceaderville, Rudy, Alma, Dyer, Mulberry, and Ozark. The district seat is currently held by Rrepresentative Beverly Pyle who is unable to run for reelection due to term limits.

I’m just happy to see an announcement that is not about the US Senate.
