David Meeks of Conway Forms Exploratory Committee for Congress
Today, David Meeks announces that he is forming an exploratory committee to look at running for the U.S. House of Representatives from the 2nd District. If he runs, Meeks will seek the Republican nomination for the chance to take on incumbent Rep. Vic Snyder. Meeks currently serves at the Bible Baptist Church in Conway. He has served in the Army and has worked for an inner city charter school and as a project manager for a health insurance company. Although he is seeking his first elected office, Meeks has worked in grassroots politics for sometime most recently with the TEA Party movement in Arkansas.
Meeks kicks off his announcement today by unveiling his campaign website and with several appearances at Republican events. Meeks will speak to the Faulkner County Republican Women at lunch in Conway where he is expected to make his official announcement. Then, he plans to head to the Saline County Republican Committee in Benton to make an appearance Thursday evening.
