Beau Stricklin of Russellville Considers Running Against Rep. Boozman
Roby Brock reports that Beau Stricklin of North Little Rock Russellville is considering running as a Democrat against Rep. John Boozman for Congress. He does not sound too excited about actually running telling Brock, “If someone steps up that’s more qualified than me, I’ll let them have it.”
Stricklin goes on to say, “I’m a conservative Democrat and believe that the Republican Party has lost their way in regards to their view on big government, civil liberties, and siding with the people over government and business.” Feed up with big government? Join the club! But then why run as a Democrat!?! (Thumbs up Rutherford!)

A little confused. Is he still a resident of NLR? If so then he’s not in the proper district to even consider a run against Congressman Boozman.

Sarah – My fault on the confusion. He works in NLR but lives in Russellville, which I belive is just inside the 3rd district. I originally had the same thought as you.

The irony is that the defense budget this spring he has to support is the same one that included the largest pay cut in the history of the National Guard, which predates even American Independence.
Also, right now Marion Berry is starting to get skittish dealing with the Madam Speaker.

What is really interesting is that it is very likely Pope County will be moved to the 4th Congressional District in 2012 due to reapportionment.

This guy is not a conservative Democrat; it sounds like he’s a conservative Republican who doesn’t want to face Boozman in a GOP primary.

Competition is always a good thing. My hope is that we will see more candidates rise as election draws near.

So who do you vote for? Boozman or Boozman?
